Artist Statement

This performance is an extension project of my photography series. It is a reflection of my interior and external sense of self as I question my identity, highlighting issues of belonging, nationality, and condition. Incubated from my personal experience as a Chinese Indonesian from Medan, I seek to get deeply immersed in the emotion through performance and examine the split between being and appearance.
